Instagram Strategy for Service Providers
You don't need to be an influencer
A lot of people think Instagram requires professional photos, daily posting, and some kind of marketing degree. It doesn't. What you actually need: show your work, post regularly, and always tell people how to book with you.
Your profile is the first thing people see
Use a photo of your face, not your logo. In your bio, say what you do and where. And the most important bit: put your booking link right there.
If someone looks at your profile and can't figure out what you do within 3 seconds, they'll scroll past.
What to post
Before and after shots. Hairdresser, beautician, nail tech, whatever you do. This is the content type that works best because it shows results. You don't need a long caption. The pictures speak for themselves.
Short clips of you working. Nothing fancy. A 15-second Reel of you mid-treatment is enough. People like watching the process.
Customer feedback. If a client sends you a nice message, ask if you can share it (with or without their name). It builds trust with people who haven't visited you yet.
Cancelled slots. Got a last-minute cancellation? Pop it on your Story. "3pm just opened up today, book from the link in bio!" You'd be surprised how fast it fills.
Hashtags
Use local ones. #hairdressermanchester or #beauticianbristol aren't glamorous, but they work. That's how people in your area discover you.
The main thing
End every post with a reminder that people can book online and where to find the link. Do it every time. It won't get old. Not everyone sees every post, so there'll always be someone reading it for the first time.
